The 2nd Annual Benefit Night had 22 fabulous auction prizes and 4 door prizes. People's generosity on the evening was incredibly moving for all of us and definitely put us all in the Xmas spirit. We raised just over 60,000 pesos exactly acheiving our goal of paying for the construction of the lunchroom and kitchen at the kindergarten in the Colonia. The gentleman who bought the Ultrajewels bracelet graciously returned it to the charity to auction again, thank you.I urge you to support the businesses of our sponsors without whom there would have been no evening! Or drop in and thank them if you have time, it will make a difference. New Dive shop in town - Aquanauts has opened in Hacienda Morelos, they have an enthusiastic crew and a great location we wish them all the best ph 2069365. New machine at public clinic - Tejas amigos de Puerto Morelos (Anita, Billy, Lucky & Becky, Jeff & Helene and Tony & Pam Sansone) purchased an Ob/Gyn ultrasound machine for the Public Health Clinic in Puerto Morelos. It is now installed and ready to work but the Health Department cannot afford to roster anyone to come once a week! Well I guess that is our next project - any ideas anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Seen in the picture from left Julian Molina a technician flown down to set up the machine, Dr Hector Llanos of the Health Department in Cancun, Moi and Tony Sansone. Eating out during the holidays - Bodo's has Xmas menu of 3 courses that includes Wild Duck or Salmon with Lobster sauce for 400p or 350p and for New Year's 3 courses with Grilled Seafood plate or Rib Eye for 650p reservations 871 0449. New England Pub at Hotel Inglaterra has for Xmas day 5 courses including waldorf salad, turkey and ham for 230 pesos ph 2069081. Mama's Bakery has Christmas Cookies! and John Gray's has something but check back later for what it is! Hola Asia is closed 24,25 and 31 December and 1 January.
