Que Paso? April 5

Hello friends

Sorry about no newsletter last week but I had a dear friend very ill from a horse accident, for those of you that know Yvonne the good news is she has been moved from Intensive care today and is in her own room , room 303 Hospitan Star Medica in Merida ph 52 999 9302880. Thank you all for your love and kind thoughts.

I love Puerto Morelos at Easter - it is full of families and everyone just having fun and playing on the beach, the sea is emerald and the breeze gentle, we are lucky to be here. I know this sounds corny but nearly losing a dear friend has reminded me to love and appreciate my family and friends more deeply and remember the important things and let go of the little things.

So, I probably know less than some of you about what's happening right now but I do know

LAS MORENAS has opened.
Janina has a small grocery store in the ground floor of the building North of the Federal Reserve land in Rojo Gomez (underneath where Bea lives) . Kitty corner to the new condos, Las Tortugas which are in front of Amar Inn. They are open 7am-7pm and sell basics like milk, water, cigs etc but next week they will be selling all sorts of pastas and salsas to eat in or take away. Fettucine, ravioli with spinach and ricotta or meat and they will be serving breakfast from 7am, Eat in or take away. Good luck girls.

THE BAZAAR THE BAZAAR THE BAZAAR

Of course this is this Saturday!!! starts at 3pm in the Town Square we have a lot of clothes some really good stuff at really silly low prices, all sorts of odds and ends, scanner, camera, books, shoes, oh you'll see. As another first we have between 10 and 12 different Puerto Morelos artists showing and selling their original works, jewellery, art pieces, paintings, sculpture. These artists are donating 25% of their sales to the charity so come along find a bargain and support the charity and our local artists. We will be helping the community in general with the funds but this time especially the Bomberos, at this time of year they need all the help they can get, the fires have already started. For all the kids, and the children within us, there will be a big fire truck there with firemen to play with - the truck I mean of course! There will be soft drinks and beer and hot dogs and chicken yakatori too

Thanks to everyone who made this bazaar possible - Frank (food and beverage) , Patti (artists) , Emily(everything) , Silvia (business side) Bea (finding the treasures), Magaly (pricing and support) , Jodi (publicity) , Marguerite (design) , Billy and Eric and many more including the delegado. Thank you for all your donations and see you on Saturday. Thanks to Vera and her family from Nova Scotia (and Bucaneros) for all the sports equipment donated to the primary school and the annual contribution Vera has started to support kindergarten children in need in the colonia.
